Why Report Incidents?
To achieve greater consistency throughout Australia, the Commonwealth, States and Territories will unify the different Health and Safety laws of each state by implementing a new National Harmonisation of Australia's Work Health and Safety legislation.
Ministers from around Australia agreed to nationally harmonise what will now be called work health and safety (WHS) laws. The WHS model sets out new Codes of Practice aiming to regulate all the existing laws throughout the country and create a more consistent Work Health and Safety standard for all Australian employers and workers.
It is important to track, record and action any accident, damage, near miss or occurance that could be considered an incident or potentially cause an incident in the future.
By doing so, you can properly action, prevent and manage these areas. Incidents can range from security, environment, property, injury and much more.
